British Bloke Arrested for Impersonating a Cop While Wearing Pig Mask and Toy Helmet
"Greater Manchester Police arrested a man who put on a pig mask, toy helmet and reflective jacket in order to perform `comical parodies` about the behavior of law enforcement officials.
New Moston man Steven Peers was arrested on suspicion of impersonating a police officer after he put on the costume to call attention to how GMP officers conducted themselves during anti-fracking protests. "
In the United States performance art covers a multitude of artistically-challenged tomfoolery, and under the guise of performance art a person can get away with almost anything short of murder.
But in Merry Ole England, there is no such appreciation for performance art. A bloke would be well-advised not to don a pig mask outside a bloody police station.
For a man to be arrested for impersonating a police officer for wearing a pig mask, and a toy helmet is sheer madness.
If this case goes to trial I hope Peers will wear his ridiculous cop costume to court.
Peers has achieved his objectives: Exposing the idiocy of the police, and bringing attention to his anti-fracking crusade.
