D-Day Veteran Sneaks Out of Nursing Home to Attend Normandy Ceremony

"A World War II veteran didn`t let a ban from his nursing home stop him from storming the beach at Normandy once again.

An 89-year-old man was told that he wasn`t allowed to attend the Normandy commemoration ceremony in France, so he snuck out and went anyway."

The French aren`t renowned for their bravery, but this elderly gentleman has the next best thing: Spunkiness.

This World War II veteran wasn`t about to let hell, high water or nursing home bureaucrats stop him from attending the ceremonies commemorating the 70th anniversary of the D-Day landings in France.

After a couple of days of freedom the veteran returned to the nursing home, none the worse for his adventure.
