Outrage: Firefighters Rescue Intoxicated Man From Tree
"Washington firefighters were called in to help rescue an intoxicated man who got himself stuck in a tree in his own yard in Kelso.
Travis Marsh was climbing the tree, but fell and got stuck in a lower branch. The 50-year-old man tried to free himself, but his efforts were unsuccessful."
There is nothing more heartwarming than reading a story about firefighters rescuing a kitten from a tree.
There is nothing that makes my blood boil more than reading about firefighters wasting taxpayer money rescuing a drunken man from a tree.
When the firefighters arrived, they found Marsh hanging about 15 feet above the ground. Marsh would probably have survived a fall from that height; they should have dislodged him from the tree by blasting him with their hoses.
At the very least I hope Marsh is billed for the services of the emergency crew.
