Cat Travels 12 Miles to Former Home After Family Moves Across Town

By Robert Paul Reyes

"An Oregon cat traveled more than 12 miles across Portland to get back to his old stomping grounds after his family moved from St. Johns to Parkrose Heights.

George, a 2-year-old orange tabby cat, was unhappy with the new digs of the Campion family, so he ran away. All of the Campion`s other cats opted to stay put."

Dogs are loyal companions, my friend surrendered his pooch to an animal shelter and he escaped and traveled many miles to return to his home.

Cats make wonderful pets, but they aren`t quite as loyal as canines. George the cat moved with his family to a new home, and he traveled more than a dozen miles to return to his old home. This feline`s loyalty was to a building, not his human owner.

But we love cats, and we make allowances for their independent spirit. There are plenty of puppies and kittens ready for adoption at your local animal shelter.
