Beauty Contestant Busted for Work Comp Fraud Through YouTube Video
"Shawna L. Palmer of Riverside started collecting workers` compensation benefits in March after fracturing her toe as a clerk at Stater Bros. Markets, according to a news release from the California Department of Insurance. She told her doctor during multiple visits that she couldn`t put weight on her foot or wear shoes for an extended period of time.
But a YouTube video of the 2014 Miss Toyota Long Beach Grand Prix beauty contest showed otherwise: She was seen walking around in high heels without any signs of discomfort, according to the Department of Insurance."
I don`t know how women can sashay around in heels, I have a tendency to slip and fall wearing flip-flops.
Palmer claimed that she couldn`t stand for more than a minute without enduring excruciating pain, but she had no problem strutting her stuff in heels in the beauty contest.
Palmer has beauty and gumption in spades, but girlfriend is lacking in the brains department. She should have kept things on the downlow while she was collecting workers comp.
Palmer should have rocked he orthopedic boot and crutches that her physician provided her with, and entered beauty contests for the physically disabled.
If convicted of workers` comp fraud, this trifling skank could face up to one year in the county jail, three years` probation and $24,000 restitution.
