Mother Nature and Global Warming: Two Forces Not to be Reckoned With

By Ron G Anselm

"The Unexplained antics of Mother Nature can only be explained in the context of the same reasoning as living your daily life; one minute you can be on top of the world and the next you can be in the gallows of the dog house." (Anselm, R.)

This is so true when it comes to predicting what`s around the corner of Mother Nature especially when we refer to our climate and weather patterns. Mother Nature changes constantly and you never know what to expect from one minute to the next.

Over the past say ten years we have heard a lot about global warming and how this man made problem that we caused will eventually end-up to turn out to be our doom is responsible for the off the wall weather patterns science cannot explain.

Now, scientists are realizing that the onset of global warming has slowed and the weather patterns such as La Nina in the Pacific have temporally took a back seat of hiding but will eventually return with even more of a ferocious bang.

Researchers have noticed that there are lower than expected sun irradiance, solar cycles and fluctuations in many various weather cycle patterns around the world but should return back to normal expected levels soon.

Other factors that have contributed to weird weather patterns and lower than normal temperatures are the sun spot cycles that once lasted for eleven years are now lasting for thirteen years which scientists are saying is due to weak sun irradiance and also the fact that there have been an increase in the number of volcanic eruptions around the world which have launched large amounts of pollutants into the air which has diluted the overall sun`s effects on our planet.

We have heard the reasons why global warming is occurring and the main reasons are how we as humans have destroyed out protective o-zone layer. The effects of years of greenhouse gases and pollutant spewing into our environment have destroyed our soft blanket of protection that keeps out the harsh and damaging ultraviolet rays from the sun.

Scientists have been studying what global warming is for the last century and great strides in collecting data and scientific technology on global warming have improved but the older weather pattern models did not take in account the strong effects of La Nina and the out of balance problem with the sun irradiance being out of whack which have skewed the scientific data when it comes to studying the onset of global warming patterns.

Reto Knuti who is the Professor of Climate Physics at ETH Zurich summed it up this phenomenon in a few words. He said, "Short-term climate fluctuations can easily be explained. They do not after the fact that the climate will become considerably warmer in the long-term as a result of greenhouse emissions."  (Reto, K.)

So, before you breath that sigh of relief and wipe that sweat bead from your forehead thinking global warming is a thing of the past, think again as scientists are predicting global warming is predicted to come back the second time around with more ferocity than a hungry lion mad at the world.
