Marvel's Black Panther Receives Own Film? Wesley Snipes Returning as Blade for $3 million?

By Garrett Godwin

Marvel could finally be bringing some much-needed diversity in their `Cinematic Universe`, as Stan Lee revealed at a fan exposition Friday that the Black Panther will be coming to theaters sometime in the near future, according to the website Cinema Blend.

As you know, the Black Panther is part of `The Avengers`, whose founding members are Iron Man, Thor, the Hulk, Captain America, Hawkeye, and the Black Widow, so could the Panther be joining `Earth`s Mightiest Heroes` in next summer`s Age of Ultron -- or `Avengers 3`?

And it may be open season once more for Wesley Snipes, as the actor is rumored for a $3 million paycheck plus profits to reprise his role as half-human, half-vampire hunter Blade in the fourth installment of the franchise, according to New York Daily News.

Snipes truly helped introduced the world of Marvel to film audiences as Blade, the `Daywalker` whose sole purpose is to defeat the forces of darkness.  Snipes played Blade in three films from 1998 to 2004: literally bringing fresh blood into the vampire and comic-book/superhero genres.  If not for Blade, there would not have been X-Men and Spider-Man, as well as the Marvel Cinematic Universe with Iron Man, The Avengers, and Guardians of the Galaxy.

After serving a three-year prison sentence for tax evasion, Snipes returned to the big screen with The Expendables 3, fighting alongside Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Dolph Lundgren, Randy Couture, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jet Li, and Terry Crews as Earth`s mightiest action heroes.
