OMG: Doctors Remove 9-Pound Hairball From Teen Girl's Stomach: Video

"Doctors treating a teenage girl who had become unable to drink water without being sick were shocked to excavate a gigantic nine-pound hairball from inside her stomach.


Ayperi Alekseeva, 18, from Kyrgyzstan, suffered months of dehydration and malnourishment because she couldn`t eat or drink, and came close to death.

But when doctors in the capital city of Bishkek cut open her stomach, they found a giant mass formed from years of eating her own hair and hair picked up from the floor."

Cats are obsessive-compulsive about their personal hygiene; they are always grooming themselves, and the unfortunate byproduct is that they throw up hairballs so nasty and ugly that they give you the heebie-jeebies.

Tico, my 25-pound long-haired cat, has vomited some hairballs that are scarier than monsters from horror flicks.

But you don`t expect your teen daughter to develop hairballs, unless she suffers from the compulsive eating of hair or Trichophagia.

The young woman will be go home with her parents at the end of the week, and has promised to stop chewing on her hair. When she`s released from the hospital the parents should make one stop before taking her home: To a hair stylist to have her head shaved.
