Cops Nab Tar-covered Burglar Atop Daytona Beach Store

By Robert Paul Reyes

"Police did not buy a tar-smeared man`s story that he was visiting family on the roof of a convenience store at 3 a.m. Tuesday.

Joshue Holoman, 30, covered in roofing tar from trying to break into the Sunoco at 645 N. Atlantic Ave. through an air conditioning shaft, was charged with two counts of attempted burglary of an unoccupied structure, possession of burglary tools and criminal mischief, an arrest report shows."

The Daytona Beach News-Journal

Burglary 101: Have a plausible explanation ready in case you`re caught red-handed by the cops. Stick to your story, regardless how absurd it sounds.

This moron gave cops three different stories: First he said that he was visiting family. (A family of pigeons on the roof?)

Then the brainiac insisted he was repairing the store`s air conditioning units. (Doesn`t every air conditioning repairman carry a set of burglary tools?)

Finally he said that he had been taking a nap on the roof, and that he had rubbed the tar on his body as camouflage. (Makes sense, you wouldn`t want an eagle to carry you away.)

Needless to say, the police officers didn`t buy any of his stories.
