Student, 13, Suspended for Snorting Smarties Candy

By Robert Paul Reyes

"A middle school student accused of snorting Smarties on campus has learned his punishment and he`ll now have drug possession permanently on his school record.

His mother says it`s unfair and wants to take legal action."

Andrew Cook, 13, was suspended for 12-days awaiting a fact-finding hearing. You don`t have to be a rocket scientist or a psychologist to come to the conclusion that the only fact that`s relevant is that Andrew isn`t a Smartie.

Candy isn`t a controlled substance, but this school has a zero-tolerance policy against drugs, and disciplines anyone who imitates drug use.

Andrew should have been lectured for his indiscretion, but a suspension and a permanent mark on his school record for drug possession? Really?

Stop the insanity!
