Outrage: Phylicia Rashad (Clair Huxtable) Defends Bill Cosby
"Bill Cosby`s TV wife is standing firmly in his corner.
Showbiz 411 reported that Phylicia Rashad, who played Clair Huxtable on NBC`s "The Cosby Show,` told the outlet that she never saw any indication of the behavior that many women have attributed to the legendary actor.
He has been accused of harassing, drugging and sexually assaulting multiple women. No charges have ever been filed against Cosby.
"Forget these women,` Rashad said. "What you`re seeing is the destruction of a legacy. And I think it`s orchestrated. I don`t know why or who`s doing it, but it`s the legacy. And it`s a legacy that is so important to the culture."
Phylicia Rashad is an embarrassment to women in general and to black women in particular. How dare Rashad so cavalierly dismiss the testimonies of over two dozen women who swear that Cosby sexually assaulted them?
If Rashad is dismissing the allegations because most of the victims are white, then she is just as racist as Cosby who targeted vulnerable white women.
Rashad said she believes the accusations of sexual assault are orchestrated, does she believe there`s a vast white conspiracy to bring down a black icon?
None of Cosby`s victims knew each other, yet they all describe the same basic modus operani employed by the disgraced comic: He drugged vulnerable aspiring actresses to his hotel under the pretext of helping them with their careers and then he drugged and raped them.
"What you`re seeing is the destruction of a legacy. And I think it`s orchestrated," Rashad, said. What we are witnessing is the outing of a monster who masqueraded as America`s beloved TV dad.
If Rashad didn`t have anything relevant and intelligent to add to the conversation, she should have kept quiet.
