SOP Word of the Day: Empowerment

SOP Word of the Day: Empowerment

By Keith Johnson

Word of the Day: Empowerment

The word "empowerment" is a noun that is rooted in three base parts: em (meaning in), power (meaning ability or force), and ment (sense of or way of). So, literally, empowerment means ability in someone or something by way of something or someone else. Empowerment is a word you hear in sports and spirituality where a teacher or instruction will show a student new ways to master his or her craft. Here are three sentences featuring the word "empowerment".

1. The Tibetan Lama featured a silent meditation empowerment ceremony today.

2. The empowerment I received from my Math teacher helped me to pass the logic test.

3. The informational empowerment I received from the Google Productivity Guide has helped me to master advanced web search techniques, Google web tools and resources, and understand the diversity of Google Chrome extensions available. Now, both my small business and studies will go much better in the future.
