Google Chrome Address Bar Beats Firefox

Google Chrome Address Bar Beats Firefox

By Keith Johnson

Google Chrome Address Bar

As a Technical Writer and Software Trainer, I use both Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome for web browsing. However, Google Chrome beats Mozilla Firefox when it comes to the true versatility of the address bar. In short, you can use your Google Chrome address bar for many things.

My favorite use of the address bar - above and beyond typing in common URLs - is to search inside of specific websites or portals for applicable web pages and information. Let us say that I want to find a book at Amazon. com. I would type into my Google Chrome address bar: Search Amazon.com: 101 Power Writing Tips. Then I would press the Enter key.

I would be taken immediately to the Amazon.com search results page as if I was already there at the Amazon.com site. Amazing technology? You bet. You see, it took two talented teams of Project Managers and Code Developers (from Google and Amazon) to build this "bridge". Obviously, there had to be permission from both companies for this capability to be realized.

Address Bar search. Try it out. You will not be disappointed!

Cheers and Best Regards,
