Sidney Poitier a Legend, Bill Cosby a Disgrace!

By Robert Paul Reyes

"Legendary actor Sidney Poitier is reportedly terribly disgusted with embattled comedian Bill Cosby following the numerous sexual assault allegations against him that have emerged since November last year."

In the 70`s Poitier starred with Cosby in a number of films including Uptown Saturday Night, Let`s Do It Again, and A Piece of the Action.

Kudos to Sidney Poitier for putting justice and respect for Cosby`s victims over his friendship and working relationship with the disgraced comic.

Poitier joins Roseanne Barr, Larry Wilmore, and Jay Leno in being disgusted at the debauchery and depravity of Bill Cosby. I urge everyone in Hollywood to condemn Cosby in no uncertain terms, and to treat him like a persona non grata.

Poitier was a civil rights trailblazer in cinema; he rejected playing stereotypical roles, and imbued all of his roles with dignity and humanity.

Cosby was also a civil rights trailblazer in popular culture; in 1965 he was cast alongside Robert Culp in "I Spy", becoming the first black to co-star in a dramatic TV series. Of course we all fondly remember Cosby as Dr. Cliff Huxtable, in the wildly successful sit-com "The Cosby Show."

Poitier is now 87 and his sterling reputation remains intact, he is a role model for children of all ethnicities.

Cosby`s, 77, legacy is in shatters and he is a reproach, a byword and an object of ridicule. All of his civil rights gains have been erased now that he has been exposed as a serial rapist of white women.

God Bless Sidney Poitier and may Bill Cosby rot in hell.
