Goldfish-swallowing Twit Banned From Owning Fish
"An Oxfordshire man has been disqualified from keeping fish for five years after footage of him swallowing a goldfish alive - twice - appeared on Facebook.
Luke Berry, 26, of Taylor Close, Faringdon, Oxfordshire, appeared at Oxfordshire Magistrates` Court for sentencing today (Monday) after previously pleading guilty to causing unnecessary suffering to a goldfish.
As well as the ban, he was given a 12-month community order of 120 hours of unpaid work and ordered to pay £500 costs and a £60 victim surcharge."
In less enlightened times we smiled or maybe grimaced when we saw a person swallow a goldfish, but today we recognize this stunt for what it is: Animal cruelty.
This British wanker has twice posted videos on Facebook depicting him swallowing a goldfish. This repeat offender got off easy; he should have been sentenced to jail, for at least a few weeks.
Eating a goldfish and then posting the despicable deed on YouTube for the entertainment of others is a cruel and callous act that no civilized society should condone.
