UFO Fascination Says More About Humans Than About Aliens
"What is it about unidentified flying objects and extraterrestrial visitors that holds such allure? Surveys consistently show that about a third of all Americans think alien spaceships are real " and that as much as 10 percent of the population have seen such spaceships. Eyewitnesses abound, but the physical evidence is flimsy.
Shostak definitely thinks there`s intelligent life out there. Otherwise he wouldn`t be spending so much time and energy on the radio-based search for extraterrestrial intelligence, a.k.a. SETI. But he also spends more than his share of time debating people who are certain the aliens are already among us."
I also believe there`s intelligent life out there, there`s precious little here judging by the thousands of people who claim to see extraterrestrial spacecraft every year.
There are tens of thousands of out-of-focus photographs and blurry videos depicting UFO`s, but not a single shred of genuine evidence.
Clouds and meteorites are natural Rorschach tests, normal human beings see natural phenomenon but UFO enthusiasts see extraterrestrial spacecrafts.
There`s certainly intelligent life in deep space, but we shouldn`t be trying to contact them. An advanced alien civilization would most likely be so disgusted by our bloodlust, ignorance and inhumanity that they might destroy us.
UFO Fascination says more about humans than about aliens, it says that we are a foolish and ignorant species that will be lucky to ever develop the technology for intergalactic travel.
