Hapless Robber Used Canvas Bag With Handwritten Dollar Sign

By Robert Paul Reyes

"On April 8, 2015, officers were called to a robbery at a Subway restaurant on the west side. A man entered the store and stole money from the register, along with an employee`s cell phone. Officers apprehended the suspect after a short foot pursuit near the Grocery Outlet."

The robber was wearing a white hat and a red bandana over his face to obscure his face, just a run-of-the-mill robbery you may be thinking  ...

But this hapless criminal`s getaway vehicle was a shopping cart full of consumer goods; he must have hit a few other places before robbing Subway.

He also had a canvass bag with a handwritten dollar sign, which begs the question: Was his next target Scrooge McDuck`s vault?

The suspect, David Lingafelter, 22, was apprehended a few blocks away hiding behind a dumpster -- he wasn`t going to get too far away pushing a shopping cart!

What a loser, the cops should have slapped him silly, and thrown him in the dumpster.
