Donald Trump Says John McCain is No War Hero! Trump is Toast!

By Robert Paul Reyes

"Donald J. Trump has made his name in politics with provocative statements, but it was not until Saturday, after the flamboyant businessman turned presidential candidate belittled Senator John McCain`s war record, that many Republicans concluded that silence or equivocation about Mr. Trump`s incendiary rhetoric was inadequate.

Mr. Trump upended a Republican presidential forum here, and the race more broadly, by saying of the Arizona senator and former prisoner of war: He`s not a war hero. He`s a war hero because he was captured. I like people who weren`t captured.

Mr. McCain, a naval aviator, was shot down during the Vietnam War and held prisoner for more than five years in Hanoi, refusing early release even after being repeatedly beaten."

The New York Times

Donald Trump is a blowhard with a gigantic ego and an equally humongous insecurity, whenever anyone calls him to task for his incendiary statements he immediately responds with invective and ad hominin attacks.

Trump`s volatile temper provides much entertainment when he`s operating in the celebrity realm, and he engages in epic Twitter feuds with the likes of Rosie O`Donnell and Bill Maher.

Every four years Trump gets his feet wet in politics, launching still-born presidential campaigns. In his role as presidential candidate his toxic remarks are taken more seriously, although he`s always in babble-speak mode.

This time Trump officially entered the GOP presidential race,  and in spite of, or maybe because of, his  racist comments he is leading in some polls  -- a damning indictment of the Republican electorate.

When The Donald insulted 121 million Mexicans, branding them racists and thieves, it  hardly caused a ripple in the insulated Republican world.

But Trump finally stepped over the line, even for conservatives, when he ludicrously stated that Sen. John McCain wasn`t a war hero because he was captured.

Trump didn`t attack the Arizona senator out of the blue, he went ballistic after McCain said that Trump was riling up crazies in the party with his inflammatory remarks about illegal Mexican immigrants.

Trump doesn`t have a filter, whenever anyone has the temerity to criticize him, the reality star goes from cool to red-hot in a nanosecond, and he responds like a trash-talking WWE wrestler.

Even liberals and socialists respect McCain for his military service to his country, which includes five years as a POW in Hanoi where he was repeatedly beaten and tortured.

Although Trump has yet to apologize, he has backtracked from his comments, but the die is cast  -- he`s toast. Even the most diehard conservative Republican finally realizes that Trump isn`t presidential timber. A presidential candidate who criticizes a former POW is morally unqualified to be Commander-in Chief.

This isn`t the WWE or a reality show, this is real life and Trump is an embarrassment to the Republican Party, and it`s incumbent on every Republican presidential candidate and every Republican member of Congress to condemn Trump in no uncertain terms.
