Will Chris Christie's Awkward Sex Comment Destroy His Presidential Campaign?

By Robert Paul Reyes

"We should all acquit ourselves in a way that we believe is consistent with the teachings that we follow, if we follow certain teachings from a religious perspective. That`s what I`ll always continue to try to do. Me for instance, I`m a Catholic, but I`ve used birth control, and not just the rhythm method, ok. So, you know, my church has a teaching against birth control. Does that make me an awful Catholic because I believed and practiced that function during part of my life? I don`t think so."

Republican presidential candidate Chris Christie at a town hall meeting in Manchester, New Hampshire.

There are two subjects that Chris Christie shouldn`t touch with a ten-foot pole: His personal eating habits and his sex life.

An image of the rotund politician stuffing his face or doing the nasty is calculated to make any normal person retch.

But with Donald Trump rising in the polls every time he makes an outlandish statement, Christie evidently feels that he has no choice but to discuss his sex life.

Let`s just hope and pray that Christie doesn`t feel compelled to go the Kim Kardashian route and release a sex tape to illustrate the birth control methods he employs with his wife.

Our democracy will survive Trump`s bombastic and profane declarations, but it won`t survive a Christie home-made sex tape.
