Evil Woman Charged After Dog Dies, Likely From Heat Stroke

By Robert Paul Reyes

"A woman is charged with animal cruelty after allegedly leaving her dog outside in the heat where it died.

According to an arrest affidavit, a witness called police on June 27 to check on a dog in a southeast Austin backyard on Sand Dunes Avenue.

The witness said that it a Rottweiler was tied up to the back door on a concrete patio with no cover and no water, and that the owner was not home. The witness also said that the dog had been barking for over two hours and the bark had gotten higher pitched. A short time later, the witness called police again crying, saying that they had tried to save the dog but it had died."

I keep my dog outside, even on hot days, but she has two dog houses to shelter her from the hot sun, plus she can also find shade under the trees. I leave plenty of food and water for her, and of course I would never, in a million years, tie her to the back door.

Dogs feel the heat and get thirsty just like human beings, and it`s incumbent on us to always look out for their comfort and welfare.

Neighbors had complained to the police several times over the years about this woman neglecting her dog, evidently she used the animal to protect her house and didn`t care about him.

Now the canine is dead due to the woman`s criminal negligence, and the heartless owner has been charged with cruelty to non-livestock animals.

Kudos to the caring neighbor, we all need to call the police when an animal is being abused. Situations like this don`t always end in tragedy; usually the mistreated dog is taken away from the owner.
