The Metropolitan Room Showcases Michael Garin with 'A Punch In the Mouth'
Michael Garin Gets A Punch In the Mouth at the Metropolitan Room
A Punch In The Mouth is a musical memoir full of blatant exaggerations, out-and-out lies and a for-real ghost story. It`s the adventures and misadventures of Drama Desk winner Michael Garin, who is described by director Michael Schiralli as the love child of Groucho Marx and Noel Coward. The title comes from the famous quote by Mike Tyson: Everybody has a plan until they get punched in the mouth.
From holding forth at such legendary venues as The Monkey Bar, Elaine`s, The VIP Room at Limelight, or working at The Williamstown Theatre Festival and accompanying the likes of Elaine Stritch, Jane Krakowski and Nathan Lane, to being hired by Spike Lee to scream the N word for Do The Right Thing, Michael Garin has lurched from one unplanned cool gig to another. Show business, he says, is the intersection of commerce and narcissism.
Come see for yourself.
