"The music video for Adele`s new single Hello has overtaken Taylor Swift`s Bad Blood as the most-viewed video in 24 hours.
The ballad, which marks Adele`s return to music after a three year hiatus, obtained a dominating 27.7 million views in its first day as compared to Bad Blood, which peaked at a then record-setting 20.1 million views in its first 24 hours of release."
Adele`s new single Hello has dethroned Taylor Swift`s Bad Blood as the most-viewed in 24 hours, and it has overtaken Drake`s Hotline Bling as the most talked about video. Adele is pop music; she relegates genuine superstars like Swift and Drake to periphery of the pop realm. Swift has the unquestioned talent to craft bubbly pop songs, and Drake has the funky dance moves and the street-cred, but Adele has the voice, Dear God Almighty what a voice!
Adele`s video Hello opens with the Queen of Pop chatting in her cell phone in her distinctive British accent, and make no mistake about it; it`s England that`s producing the great pop singers of this era, whether it`s Sam Smith or Adele.
Hello was filmed in black and white, its retro look transports us back in time when talent and vocal dexterity meant something. But I don`t want to discuss the video any further; when we`re discussing Adele it`s the voice that blows us away.
Drake`s video for Hotline Bling may be a minimalist masterpiece, but Adele`s Hello will knock you down to your knees in gratitude that the Queen has returned.
