Dog Named Trigger Shoots Hunter!
"Sometimes you have to hunt for a good story. Other times it does the hunting for you.
Allie Carter was hunting with her dog Trigger in northern Indiana over the weekend when she became the object of an international punch line.
The 25-year-old laid her 12-gauge shotgun on the ground. The safety was off. Her 10-year-old chocolate lab did the rest.
`A dog stepped on the trigger, causing the gun to go off and strike a female hunter in the foot,` Indiana Conservation Officer Jonathon Boyd told CNN affiliate WBND. "
With one shot Trigger the Pooch has surpassed the fame of Trigger the Horse (the sidekick of cowboy star Roy Rogers.) From now on, until the end of time, when we hear the word "Trigger " we will think of the chocolate lab and not the palomino horse.
Allie Carter should go into hiding; she`s brought humiliation not only to herself but to hunters and her country.
Trigger on the other hand has become a world-wide celebrity, the pooch may not dethrone Grumpy Cat as the King of the Internet, but he already has a Twitter account and a Facebook page.
Moral of this story:
Hunters would be well-advised not to name their hunting dogs "Trigger."
