CNN Reporter Elise Labott Suspended After Biased Refugees Tweet

By Robert Paul Reyes

"CNN global affairs correspondent Elise Labott has been suspended for two weeks, a source at CNN confirmed to POLITICO.

Earlier on Thursday Labott had tweeted about the House voting on a bill that would make it harder for Syrian refugees to enter the United States.

"House passes bill that could limit Syrian refugees. Statue of Liberty bows head in anguish,` she wrote, linking to a CNN article on the vote. "

Some critics complained that the tweet showed bias. Ya think?

A reporter isn`t supposed to editorialize; he should lay out the facts and let the reader arrive at his own conclusions.

By linking her CNN article about the Syrian refugee crisis to a tweet where she clearly expresses her opinion on the controversy Labott destroyed her credibility as an objective reporter, and tarnished the reputation of CNN.

Instead of rewarding Labott with two weeks off so she can enjoy Thanksgiving, she should have been summarily fired by CNN.

The Statue of Liberty ditched her torch in favor of a machine gun so she can blast any ISIS terrorists posing as Syrian refugees. As an opinion writer I can write such a biased and provocative sentence, Labott should be an editorialist and not a journalist.
