Outrage: Cop Suspended for Wearing Pro-pot Pin While in Uniform

By Robert Paul Reyes

"A Vermilion police captain is suspended from his duties, accused of openly supporting the legalization of marijuana while he was in uniform.

Cpt. Michael Reinheimer posted a photo on Facebook of a button, which read: I support legalize 2016. It apparently referred to a new effort to legalize pot in Ohio.

On Tuesday, voters rejected Issue 3, which would have made recreational and medicinal marijuana legal in the state."

A police officer is supposed to serve and protect, not offend, the community, and if a cop wears a pin with a political message he`s bound to offend someone.

I can see the logic behind the police captain being suspended for publicly endorsing a measure to legalize marijuana; however I wish more police officers shared his viewpoint.

The war on drugs is an abysmal failure, it may fill our jails and prisons with blacks and Latinos, but it does nothing to address the underlying problem of addiction.

It`s a shame that the voters of Ohio rejected the measure that would have made recreational and medicinal marijuana legal in the state.

The lazy Ohio potheads need to vote the next time a similar measure is on the ballot, in a perfect world cops and stoners would dance together to the reggae rhythm of Bob Marley while a cloud of marijuana smoke hovers over them.
