Judyth Piazza Interviews Fashion Designer, Lucas Molo: The Creator of Fuzion International
1-Tell us a little bit about yourself and your company? What was the inspiration behind it?
I am a lover of the World`s life and culture. I`ve been lucky enough to experience many places and people throughout my life as a race car driver for Ferrari, a Championship kickboxer, a sports-bar owner, an MMA gym owner and now a clothing designer. These experiences have taken me throughout Europe, South America, and the United States and have shown me so much about humanity and how we share many common traits and feelings regardless of our location or class. This is the inspiration behind Fuzion International. That all people are interconnected through these Universal things such as music, clothing, love and pain.
2- When did you first know that you wanted to be an entrepreneur?
I was 21 years old when I started my race car team in Rio De Janeiro. Operating this team at such a young age, I learned that I had the ability to connect with people on this Universal level regardless of their language or class.
3- Who are some of your mentors that have helped you along the way?
My father has been my best mentor throughout my life. He is a very successful businessman and I have been fortunate to get his council on business and personal matters my entire career.
4- What Key quality do you believe that all successful people share?
The ability to communicate and connect with people socially I feel is a major factor in what has made me successful thus far, and I believe this must be true for all people trying to succeed. To achieve great things you need great people around you, and the key to having great people is effective communication.
5- Tell us about some of the projects you are working on now?
Right now we just launched Fuzion International in San Francisco, CA with an initial offering of limited products. This line is receiving a lot of attention and for this I am grateful. We are also currently working out the details to launch the brand in Rio De Janeiro as well as New York, Los Angeles and Milan, Italy.
6- What keeps you motivated?
The drive to always get better and improve. Also, I believe the more friends a person has, the better off he is professionally and personally, so I enjoy meeting and connecting with new people along my journey, this is what motivates me.
7- What is the most important lesson you`ve learned from your career?
That all people really are created equal in the eyes of the Universe. I treat everybody I work with, from the janitor to the CEO, with the same amount of respect and dignity. When I was a race car driver, I liked hanging around with the mechanics in the garage even though I`m supposed to be this big star. When I`m in Rio De Janeiro (my hometown), I have friends in both the rich parts and poor parts of town (The Favelas) and I am accepted by both. I believe this is because I`ve learned this lesson.
8- What advice do you have for a young person who wants to be an entrepreneur?
Stay focused on your dream, do what you want, and do not let your vision be dictated by outside forces because all that you need is inside your heart.
9- What is something that could improve your company?
We are constantly improving so many things it`s difficult to name just one thing. But the expansion of the brand while maintaining the integrity and quality of the product is probably at the forefront of those things.
10-What is the best piece of business advice that you have ever received?
To not lose focus and protect yourself at all times in business in life.
11-Where do you see your company in the next 5 years?
I see Fuzion International as a global brand being carried in stores throughout the World. Where ever international men and women travel, this is where I want the brand to be.
12- What makes your company unique or interesting?
First off is the quality, our shirts are made from the best North American t-shirts using high-quality manufacturing processes. Our hats are not just a cheap acrylic but rather a strong blend of cotton and other materials that make it last longer and keep it`s shape. And of course, are one of a kind designs.
Second, is the vision. We use the words We Are Fuzion " because we have brought together people and elements from all corners of the World to make this happen. When we combine two styles of music, we say We are Fuzion " when we combine clothing styles to create something new we say We Are Fuzion. " So you see, all things in life are a result Fuzion and so it encompasses us all.
