Main Coon Cat Mistaken for Bobcat

By Robert Paul Reyes

If you ever walked through San Jose`s Rose Garden neighborhood, you might have seen a large, furry animal staring out a window at you. Many people walking by think a wild animal, but it is not a bobcat. It`s just a really, really big house cat.

"Spock" is no ordinary house cat. Holding him requires two hands and a strong back.

The large cat is 27 pounds, eats a pound of food a day and is nearly four feet long.
Spock is a Maine Coon and usually gets a startled reaction when people see him in the window of the home. "

When people see Spock staring out the window of his home they think he`s a bobcat, but Spock is just a big Maine Coon.

When people see my white with black spots cat, Tico, looking out the window they think my 25-pound baby is a miniature cow.

Whether it`s a one-ounce kitten or a 27-pound Main Coon felines are adorable and they make perfect pets. There`s a kitten, or a cat if you prefer, waiting for you at your local animal shelter.
