Hillary Clinton's Email Scandal: Ego Run Amok
"Twenty-two emails sent through Hillary Clinton`s unsecured home server while she was secretary of state contained government secrets, US officials say.
The State Department said the messages were top secret and could not be released.
Spokesman John Kirby said the emails were not marked classified at the time they were sent."
The timing of this announcement could not have come at a worse time for Hillary -- the critical Iowa caucuses are on Monday.
Hillary has been under fire throughout the campaign for using a private computer server for work while serving as Secretary of State under President Obama.
This issue won`t go away until Hillary acknowledges the gravity of her mistake, and apologizes to the American public. That will happen around the same time that hell freezes over and Donald Trump admits that he wears a toupee.
Thousands of emails have already been released by the State Department, but this is the first time her messages have been labelled top secret.
Hillary`s campaign argues that none of the emails were classified when she sent them, and that this is over-classification run amok.
As a career public servant Hillary should have realized that any correspondence issued or received by a Secretary of State had the potential of being retroactively labeled top secret.
Hillary should have had the discernment, wisdom and just plain common sense not to put the country`s intelligence secrets at risk by using a private server for her work-related emails.
Even seemingly innocuous email, for example email detailing her schedule could have placed her at risk of being kidnapped or assassinated. It`s a foregone conclusion that Russia and China hacked her private server, and even ISIS may have intercepted her messages.
Hillary`s email scandal proves that her ego run amok makes her unqualified to be commander-in-chief. Bernie Sanders may think that Hillary`s emails are of no consequence, but I`m hoping that enough Democrats will be so disgusted by her arrogance that they will vote for Sanders or O`Malley Monday in Iowa.
