It is a sure sign that spring has arrived at Brookfield Zoo when the giraffes can be seen outside at the Habitat Africa! The Savannah exhibit. With warmer temperatures predicted for the remainder of the week, Animal Programs staff took advantage of today`s weather and gave the giraffes access to their outdoor habitat.
This annual event is always exciting to witness, and guests who ventured out to the zoo today, were not disappointed as they watched Potoka, a 2-year-old male, running.

Spring is in the air: Flowers are blooming, birds are chirping, young ladies are showing more skin, and the giraffes at the Brookfield Zoo are frolicking.
Potoka, a 2-year-old giraffe, was given access to his outside habitat for the first time this year, and he greeted spring with a happy dance.
Watching this young giraffe play makes this old man eager to shoot some hoops, run a marathon -- OK I will settle for just walking with my dog.
