Dude Arrested for Not Returning 'Freddy Got Fingered' VHS Rental in 2002

By Robert Paul Reyes

"A North Carolina man was arrested during a traffic stop when an officer discovered he had a warrant for failing to return a VHS rental of Freddy Got Fingered in 2002.

Meyers is now facing a misdemeanor charge of failure to return rental property, which carries a fine of up to $200.

However, Meyers may not have to spend any of his own money -- Green, the film`s star, has offered to cover the cost."

Meyer said he vaguely remembers renting the Tom Green flick from a now-defunct video store. Thank God for Netflix and other streaming services, we no longer have to remember to return videos or face a fee, or even jail time.

Meyer got fingered by the long arm of the law, but at least Tom Green has offered to pay the $200 fine.
