D.C.-area Residents Help Lost Baby Beaver at Metro Station: Video

By Robert Paul Reyes

"It`s not a call that humane officers in D.C. get every day: a baby beaver roaming around the fountain near a Metro station.

A crowd had formed around the little beaver, who had been wandering around the plaza, even crawling up onto a passerby`s sneaker. Giacoppo says D.C. police were already on the scene, adding that one officer had even dashed into a nearby store to find a box to contain the beaver until a humane officer arrived."

A baby beaver may be adorable, but it`s a wild animal and if you encounter one of these cute critters don`t try to pet it, call animal control.

Fortunately, the commuters called the authorities and the baby beaver was released into the wild by humane officers. Hopefully the baby beaver will survive without his mom, the odds are stacked against him but we wish him the best.

The commuters at the Metro station got an unexpected blessing watching the antics of the baby beaver, and fortunately so can you thanks to this delightful video.
