Browser the Cat Evicted From Library

By Robert Paul Reyes

"The White Settlement Public Library is home to more than just books, and lots of folks here want to make sure it stays that way.

Browser the cat was hired six years ago to help with the library`s rodent problem. He`s lived there ever since, and he`s endeared himself to the regulars, young and old alike!

`We like Browser a lot cause he`s such a cute cat and we like petting him and reading books with him,` said 10-year-old Lilly.
Apparently, after a city employee wasn`t allowed to bring a puppy to work, they complained it wasn`t fair since there was a cat at the library. And so, the council voted 2-1 in favor of evicting Browser.

Since the advent of the Internet and e-books libraries have lost a lot of patrons. I avoid my local library for the same reason I stay away from the downtown park, it`s full of homeless people who stink to high heaven.

Libraries should be doing everything they can to entice book lovers, they can start by getting rid of the homeless, and replacing them with a cat.

Browser the cat was a favorite with library visitors, especially the children. It`s a shame that because one person complained, the adorable kitty was evicted from his home.

Browser`s eviction is a catastrophe, with the adorable cat gone young children may stop going to the library.

Over 800 cat lovers have signed a petition to save Browser, let`s  hope that cooler heads will prevail.
