'Supergirl' begins her 'Fight or Flight' on CW

By Garrett Godwin

Forty years after Lynda Carter led the first generation of girl power on television as Wonder Woman, Melissa Benoist is about to soar as Supergirl, who`s coming to the CW.  Starting this month, back-to-back episodes of the entire first season will air every Monday night in preparation for the new season that will have Carter being hailed in as the President of the United States - not to mention Tyler Hoechlin coming in faster than a speeding bullet as Superman, Metropolis` Man of Steel - and the cousin of Kara (Zor-El) Danvers/Supergirl.

Throughout the first season, viewers will watch and see Kara/Supergirl go on a journey in becoming one of the world`s finest of superheroes who takes flight in the fight for truth, justice, and the American Way.

Stronger together with the help of her family and friends, Kara/Supergirl will soon step out of the shadow of Superman: becoming a beacon of hope, light, positivity, goodness, and female empowerment for the people of National City against the rogue gallery of super-villains that includes the "mean girl" power of the "evil Taylor Swift squad" known as Livewire (Brit Morgan) and Silver Banshee (Italia Ricci), Indigo (Laura Vandervoort), Master Jailer (Jeff Branson), Non (Chris Vance), and the Toyman.

Greg Berlanti and Andrew Kreisberg, who developed and executive produced Supergirl, are also the men responsible for Arrow starring Stephen Amell, The Flash starring Grant Gustin, and DC`s Legends of Tomorrow.

Supergirl starts her super-sophomore season Monday, October 10 at 8pm on the CW.
