Judyth Piazza chats with Avah LaReaux, Author of "What's Done in the Dark"

By Judyth Piazza CEO (Editor)

Avah LaReaux opens her debut novel, What`s Done in the Dark, in the middle of the reformulated life of Marcus and Lynette Clayton. A single revelation cracks open this marriage, which is rife with deception. As their selfish deeds are exposed, both Marcus and Lynette are faced with the reality that they could lose each other, again.

When Marcus, a former NFL player, receives a call from his ex-lover, his life becomes a complicated tangle of old sins and new confessions. A child is at issue, and even before the DNA results come back, it is evident to all of the parties that Marcus is the father. The Clayton`s remarried after their first attempt was destroyed by Marcus` serial infidelity. It is the result of that infidelity that threatens to end the relationship again.

As the couple works through the storm of emotions and find a way to accommodate the child, the author drops bits of truth about Lynette`s own indiscretions since her marriage has been renewed.

LaReaux`s style is similar to that of the erotic fiction writer Zane, but her delivery is better. The pacing is fast, but with smooth transitions. Her characters are fully formed without the clutter of too much back story. And then there`s the sex. Each scene pulses with a distinctive rhythm. Passion is fleshed out in vivid, hot descriptions making it a lead character in its own right. Even though the sex warrants much attention, the author offers balance by exploring the impact of lying and cheating on a relationship where there is love, but little respect.

What`s Done in the Dark is an exciting, sexy, emotional story. It is the type of book that is read in one sitting... and then read again.

For a first time author Avah has come out of the gate full blast. The book is easy to read and is one you will not want to put down. I cannot wait till her next book.
