Judyth Piazza chats with Mia Caporale, Lead Actress in Blood Moon

By Judyth Piazza CEO (Editor)

I was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio.  I have 4 sisters- Marrissa, Francesca, Nina, and Mikolina.  My mother (Janet)is a teacher of language arts, and my father (Michael) is a multi-hyphenated filmmaker.

I attended the same Catholic School (Summit Country Day) from Montessori up through my junior year of high school. I eventually made a switch to an experimental high school my senior year, where I took painting, dance, and drama and became one of five members of the Schilling School`s first graduating class.  After high school I attended University of Cincinnati and was enrolled in the DAAP program.  Waiting for a spot to open up in fashion design, I took
painting classes and classes out of the College Conservatory of Music in dance and improv to bide my time.  Living on my own, I found myself struggling to balance work and school, so I dropped out and continued to work to support myself.

When I was 4, our parents entered my sisters and I into the modeling world with commercials, photo shoots, and promotional work.  During the summers when I was 14 and 15, I worked as an intern for my father`s company, Caporale Studios, in all departments of film production- preproduction, in production, and post.  I also traveled with him to Wilmington, NC when I was 17 to assist on an Independent Film set and gain knowledge for an Independent study at a major studio (ScreenGems).

It was only the summer of 2007 that I decided to give up all of my odd jobs in retail and began pursuing a career in acting.
