The defining moment in Kirsten`s life was realizing she had an eating disorder and "making the decision, my own decision, to recover." Upon meeting her, people might not realize that "I love books and academia and school, I love to watch the news, and I will forever be an enormous Harry Potter fan (yes, I waited until midnight to get my book at the past four release parties!)"
Kirsten is most proud of the time she performed as a soloist with the Burklyn Ballet Theatre in Edinburgh, Scotland.
Kirsten became the official spokesperson for ZerosmokeTM in June 2008. Kirsten promotes saving lives as she travels more than 20,000 miles each month across the country on her national tour. By raising awareness of the dangers of smoking and presenting ZerosmokeTM as an alternative way to stop smoking, Kirsten`s goal is to save lives.
According to the American Heart Association, "Cigarette smoking ? accounts for nearly 440,000 deaths each year, of which more than 135,000 are due to smoking related cardiovascular diseases. What better way to raise awareness of the link between smoking and heart disease then to take such advocacy to South Florida?
Zerosmokeâ„¢, based on Auricular Therapy, the stimulation of acupressure points on the ear, utilizes the therapy with two small magnets, placed back to back on the ear. The pressure-applying effects of the two biomagnets stimulates the release of neurotransmitters in the brain that, in turn, may lead to a sense of well-being and also decrease or eliminate cravings and withdrawal symptoms experienced with smoking cessation. The magnets are placed on the ear for up to four hours at a time and, studies have shown, smokers kick their habit within one month " without the need to quit cold turkey or the use of pills, gums or chemical components.
