A Blend of Spiritual Inspiration and Scientific Research.

A Blend of Spiritual Inspiration and Scientific Research.

By Mimi Amaral

"Consulting that encompasses a fine blend of spiritual inspiration and scientific research."

Dr. Sowerby assists people by helping them develop their innate intuition, while encouraging them to live inspired, prolific, and effectual lives. His clients, for the past 30 years, have included individuals, groups, and organizations.

David F. Sowerby, Ph.D.

Dr. Sowerby is currently writing a book on, Intuition, Dreams, and Healing. He was inspired to write on this subject through his own dreams, "Besides having an intense interest in all three areas, my intuition and dreams directed me to write on these specific topics." He has also published research in the areas of intuition and hypnosis, Hypnotic Suggestibility Enhancement Through Brief Cognitive Training, and, The Light of Inner Guidance: A Heuristic Study of the Recognition and Interpretation of Intuition.

Dr. Sowerby not only consults, but is also an Adjunct Faculty Member in the Psychology Departments at Sonoma State University and Dominican University of California. Many of his students have been inspired and touched by his teaching style, but also respect him as a mentor and friend. Jen Julius wrote, "David is one of the most inspiring and influential people in my life. Having him as a professor and as a mentor is a true blessing. I have an incredible amount of respect for him, and I feel honored to be able to learn so much from him." M. Young wrote, "Because David is so eclectic in his knowledge I have always felt comfortable talking about any subject with him. He is truly an amazing and gifted person, while still being humble and easy to communicate with."

Dr. Sowerby graduated from the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology with a Ph.D. and an M.A.T.P. in Psychology, Wilfrid Laurier University with an M.S.W. (Social Work), and the University of Western Ontario with a B.A. in Psychology.

Dr. Sowerby`s journey, however, does not stop here. He aspires to continue his teaching and consulting and harmonize these with his deep desire to write, "I`d like to do more writing. I`m directed from a very deep and transcendent place to continue writing." He will create a series of CDs to reach out to the people he cannot connect with personally: "I desire to reach out to many people to help them touch the deepest, highest, and most profound aspects of themselves."
