Man In Italy Sentenced For Staring At Woman On Train
"An Italian man was given a suspended jail sentence for staring too intensely at a woman sitting in front of him on a train.
A judge sentenced the man in his 30s, whose name was not revealed, to 10 days in prison and a 40 euro fine after a 55-year old woman filed a complaint for sexual harassment."

Whether it`s in a bus in an Italian city or a New York City subway women are frequently the victims of groping and other unwanted sexual advances. There should be stiff penalties for Neanderthals who can`t keep their hands to themselves.
But it`s ridiculous for a man to be sentenced for staring too intensely at a lady, even if it`s for an extended period of time.
When I lived in San Francisco I often commuted by subway or bus, and it wasn`t uncommon for strangers (male and female) to stare at me. I have a mug that only my Mom would love --this tells me that most people experience this sort of thing.
Whenever I was the recipient of an unwanted stare, I simply read a newspaper or looked out the window.
In full disclosure I must admit that at times I was so struck by the beauty of a female commuter, that I`m sure I looked like a deer caught in headlights. When I came to my senses, I quickly looked away and "no harm, no foul."
Guys will be guys and it`s human nature for us to admire a gorgeous woman. The 55-year old lady shouldn`t make a mountain out of a molehill, and she should be grateful that someone still finds her attractive.
