Real Cats Sashay Down The Catwalk

Real Cats Sashay Down The Catwalk

By Robert Paul Reyes

"The catwalk really was a catwalk Thursday. Show cats dressed in everything from an Elvis costume to a sequined satin dress strutted their stuff at New York`s Algonquin Hotel.

Thursday`s show benefited an animal welfare group."

I love cats, but I`d rather see scantily clad models sashay down the cat walk. Cats are cute and models are hot, and hot always trumps cute.

At least the money raised went to a good cause, but I have a feeling that super models would have raised a hell of a lot more money than cats.

Only Prince Chunk, the formerly homeless 44-pound cat has enough celebrity cachet to raise more money than supermodels. If Prince Chunk waddled down the cat walk he would bring in millions.

I can`t train my felines to do anything more elaborate than to meow; I wonder how the show`s organizers were able to train the furballs to walk down the cat walk.

"The Westchester Feline Club supplied the show-quality cats, with fashions created by New Jersey pet fashion company Meow Wear."

It`s cruelty to animals, not to mention an aesthetic outrage to force cats to wear clothes. Nature provides cats with natural Meow Wear, they don`t need to wear any stinkin` hats or sweaters.

I hope the show raised a lot of money for the animal welfare group, I just pray that next year`s show won`t feature cats wearing clothes.
