Kitty Returns Home After Nine Years
If I were the editor of a newspaper I would run an animal story every day, even the most cynical folks love reading about pets performing heroic, unusual or amusing stunts.
Here`s an amazing kitty story that I found in the Yahoo Odd News Section:
"A couple have been reunited with their missing cat after nine years, the RSPCA said on Wednesday.
Dixie, a 15-year-old ginger cat, disappeared in 1999 and her owners thought she had been killed by a car.
She was found less than half a mile from her home in Birmingham after a concerned resident rang the animal charity to report a thin and disheveled cat who had been in the area for a couple of months."
If my Pit Bull ran away to chase a squirrel, within a day or two at the most she would return and beg for me to let him in. But if one of my cats escaped, she wouldn`t return if she found someone who feeds her Fancy Feast every day.
Dixie has probably been purrrfectly happy for the last nine months living with a cat lover who took her in and treated her like a queen. Something must have happened to her new owner and she returned to her original owner.
Human beings are saps for cute cats, I`m not surprised that the original owner is thrilled to have Dixie back.
