Teacher Tells Students: There's No Santa Claus
"A primary school teacher left a class of 25 pupils in tears when she claimed Father Christmas did not exist.
The supply teacher blurted: `It`s your parents who leave out presents on Christmas Day` when children were getting over excited about Christmas.
The class of seven-year-olds at Blackshaw Lane Primary School, Royton, near Oldham, were distraught, reports the Daily Telegraph."
Truth should be the foundation of any institution of education, and a teacher shouldn`t spread myths and fables. The teacher did the right thing by telling her charges that Santa Claus does not exist.
The silly kids were getting overly excited about Christmas, and the teacher restored order in her clasroom by telling them the truth.
These 7-year-olds burst out crying when their Santa Clause myth was shattered, but some adults react with hatred and sometimes with violence when a level-headed person tells them that their religious beliefs are myths and fables. "You wretched sinner, what do you mean that the Earth isn`t 6 thousand years old and humans and dinosaurs didn`t coexist? Get the hell out of my face before I beat the hell out of you."
Unfortunately, the teacher was disciplined after parents complained. If I were the principal I would have commended the teacher and I would have given her a raise for Christmas.
No Virginia, there is no Santa Claus! The sooner kids learn that, the better!
