Couple Gets Married At Taco Bell

By Robert Paul Reyes

Wedding bells meant Taco Bell for Paul and Caragh Brooks.

Customers inside the fast-food restaurant continued to order tacos and burritos as the couple sat Friday in an orange booth at Taco Bell and exchanged vows.

Employees displayed hot sauce packets labeled with the words "Will you marry me?" They decorated the restaurant with streamers and balloons.

The bride wore a $15 hot pink dress and the entire wedding cost about $200. Several dozen guests looked on as the couple`s friend, Ryan Green of Normal, administered the vows while wearing a T-shirt. He was ordained online."

According to CostOfWedding.Com the average wedding costs $28,372 -- it doesn`t make any sense for a couple to start their life together in debt. Instead of splurging for an event that lasts only a couple of hours, why not use that nice chunk of change to make a down payment on a house?

A $200 wedding at Taco Bell may sound crazy, but what`s really nuts is spending a small fortune on a wedding. Why feed your freeloading friends lobster and caviar when you can save a lot by offering them Chalulpas and tacos?

The T-Shirt clad dude who administered the vows may have been ordained online, but the marriage is just as legit as those officiated by sanctimonious prigs with a degree in theology.

A Taco Bell wedding is a marvelous idea, but I think I`d prefer a Burger King wedding. I wouldn`t want to spend my wedding night running to the bathroom every few minutes.

I wish the happy couple a wonderful life, and I hope that they at least had a drink of champagne on their wedding night.
