Thief Run Over Twice By Getaway Car

Thief Run Over Twice By Getaway Car

By Robert Paul Reyes

In these hard economic malls have witnessed a sharp increase in shoplifting. A woman who stuffed six designer purses into her pants wasn`t a desperate mom trying to feed her children, but a greedy professional thief.

Fortunately, as we can see from this excerpt from the Associated Press (AP) article, that the thief didn`t exactly make a clean getaway:

"A report said the shoplifter tried to get into the vehicle but fell out and was run over by the car. She then got up and jumped onto the hood of the car. As the car was driving away, the report said the woman fell off and was run over again. On her third attempt, she finally made it into the vehicle."

I`m not surprised the woman fell, having six bulky purses stuffed into your pants tends to limit your agility and mobility. If the crook hadn`t been so greedy and snatched only a couple of purses she probably would have escaped without injury. The cops have the car`s license plate number, it`s only going to be a matter of time before she`s nabbed.

When a shoplifter or a burglar gets away, he gets a few moments to gloat and ogle his goodies before he pawns or fences them. This hapless shoplifter won`t get that opportunity, she`s licking her wounds and hiding from the cops. As for her stolen designer bags, they were probably trashed when she was run over twice by the car.
