Marching Band Girl Clobbers Muggers With Her Baton

Marching Band Girl Clobbers Muggers With Her Baton

By Robert Paul Reyes

"Don`t mess with the marching band. That`s what California authorities are saying after a 17-year-old girl used her marching band baton to beat back two would-be muggers.

Los Angeles County sheriff`s Deputy Michael Rust says the Quartz Hill girl was walking to school April 24 when two men approached her from behind, tried to grab her coat and demanded money.

Instead, one got a punch in the nose and the other a kick to the groin. Rust says the girl then beat both of them with her band baton before she ran away." The Associated Press

This story would have had a different outcome if the muggers had encountered a cheerleader. Cheerleaders are girly-girl types who are too afraid to put up a fight, and besides how can you defend yourself with pom poms?

But you don`t mess with the marching band, and those hapless muggers should be glad they didn`t try to rob the tuba player. If a bad guy gets whacked with a tuba ,it might make him give up a life of crime.

That marching band girl is my hero; she deserves a college scholarship for her bravery.
