Great News: The Montauk Monster Is Back

Great News: The Montauk Monster Is Back

By Robert Paul Reyes

Summer is right around the corner, and it`s time for barbeques, picnics, long road trips and the reappearance of the Montauk Monster.

The Montauk Monster was an online sensation last year, the image of the bloated corpse of the Montauk Monster garnered as many hits as racy pics of Lindsay Lohan, Paris Hilton, Kim Kardashian, Amy Winehouse and Britney Spears.

"An odd creature has apparently washed up on New York`s coast, sparking claims that it may be another so-called `Montauk Monster.`

A similar carcass sparked an online and media frenzy last July after appearing at a popular surfing spot near Montauk, N.Y.

Nicky Papers, who runs a Web site dedicated to the mystery, says he was contacted by a couple on May 5 who "think they`ve found what appears to be the Montauk Monster" on the North Fork of Long Island."

Call this new beast "The Son of the Montauk Monster", it bears little resemblance to the original beast other than that they are both uglier than sin.

I`m tired of reading about the recession, waterboarding, and Afghanistan; I hope that there will be thousands of articles written about this new beast. It`s almost summer and it`s time for sun, beach and cool ugly monsters.

Is The Son of the Montauk Monster real, or a clever fake? The Son of the Montauk Monster is as real as Bigfoot, The Lochness Monster and UFO`s. Don`t dissect the creature (literally or figuratively), just enjoy the many images of the photogenic beast that will soon deluge the Internet.

The carcass of the strange animal/alien/hybrid is being kept in a cooler; let`s hope it doesn`t mysteriously disappear.
