Putpockets Slip Money Into Unsuspecting Pockets

Putpockets Slip Money Into Unsuspecting Pockets

By Robert Paul Reyes

"Visitors to London always have to be on the look out for pickpockets, but now there`s another, more positive phenomenon on the loose -- putpockets.

Aware that people are suffering in the economic crisis, 20 former pickpockets have turned over a new leaf and are now trawling London`s tourist sites slipping money back into unsuspecting pockets.

The initiative, which runs until the end of August in London before being rolled out countrywide, is being funded by a broadbrand provider, which says it wants to brighten up people`s lives in unusual ways."Reuters

I was born and raised in San Francisco, and I learned how to discourage pickpockets by always carrying my wallet in my front pocket.

But how does one encourage a putpocket? Should Londoners dress shabbily to elicit sympathy from a putpocket?

The broadband provider is taking a big risk with this promotional campaign. What if a person mistakes a putpocket for a pickpocket, and beats the living daylights out of him? Can you say lawsuit?

A lot of people are struggling to make ends meet in America, we need a few putpockets on the loose.
