Video: Crazy Mayor Lays Smack Down on High Speed Chases

By Robert Paul Reyes

The Mayor of a town in South Carolina has banned cops from chasing suspects. We`ve all seen high speed car chases on the cable news stations, and sometimes innocent citizens are injured or killed. Many municipalities have banned police officers from chasing suspects under certain circumstances, but this mayor`s new policy includes pursuits on foot.

"The Mayor of Wellford is defending her policy which bans police officers in that city from chasing suspects. Sallie Peake says the policy also includes vehicle chases along with pursuits on foot.

A memo issued on September 2nd from Peake to all Wellford officers reads:

`As of this date, there are to be no more foot chases when a suspect runs. I do not want anyone chasing after any suspects whatsoever.`" Read More

The mayor instituted her new policy after a police officer was hurt chasing a suspect on foot. God forbid if a cop accidentally shoots himself, Wellford might become the only town in the United States with an unarmed police force.

The mayor would be better off forbidding her officers from patronizing donut shops. If the officers abstained from gorging on donuts they wouldn`t injure themselves chasing suspects.

I had second thoughts about writing this article, because the more publicity this story gets the more criminals will visit Wellford. This small town in South Carolina is a utopia for bad guys; they can commit crimes with impunity knowing that the cops won`t be allowed to chase them.

Mayor Sallie Peake cares more about keeping insurance costs down than she does about the safety of the citizens of Wellford. She should be immediately recalled, impeached or run out of town on a rail.
