Australian Teens Find Loot And Turn It In To Cops

By Robert Paul Reyes

"It was quite a catch for two teenage fishermen down under.

The two Australian teenagers found 100,000 Australian dollars, worth about $87,000 in U.S. dollars, in cash during a fishing trip.

They admit spending some time thinking about it, before turning the money over to police."

If a person goes fishing and reels in a bag of greenbacks, even if he is an atheist he will interpret it as Divine Providence, but these two foolish kids turned the dough over to the cops.

If I find $87,000 in cold hard cash during a fishing trip I will assume it`s ill-gotten gains, and I will keep the loot. No reasonable person would disagree that a law-abiding person like myself deserves the money more than a criminal.

I wouldn`t have wasted one second thinking if I should give the cash to the police, that`s almost as bad as handing it over to the mob. But I would have spent hours thinking about all the things I was going to buy with the bankroll.

The stupid kids might be able to keep the bread if no one comes forward with a legitimate claim. I hope they get to keep the currency, so they won`t regret the catch that got away for the rest of their lives.
