Iowa Clerks Hurl Cash At Man In Mistaken Robbery

By Robert Paul Reyes

"Des Moines, Iowa: Shop assistants at a US shop that had been recently robbed twice mistook a drunk customer for a robber and threw a bag of money at him.

Workers at the convenience shop in Waterloo, Iowa, thought the man, who had been `ranting` about the previous robberies at the shop and who had his hand in his pocket, was about to hold them up and threw a bag stuffed with money at him.

The 32-year-old man ignored the bag and walked out of the shop." Read More

The clerks at the "Five Star Snacks and More" had a right to be a little bit jumpy considering their shop had been robbed twice in recent months, but they should be fired for jumping the gun. Now every drunk in Des Moines is going to stumble into the shop hoping the clerks will shower him with greenbacks.

If a fat African American lady sashays into the store and stocks up on Doritos, Twinkies, Ding Dongs, Cheetos and Diet Coke the clerks would probably mistake her for Oprah Winfrey and request her autograph.

I shouldn`t talk because I would hand the cashier register at a man if he was brandishing a nail clipper -- after all it`s not even my money.

The hapless drunk was arrested for public intoxication, disorderly conduct and interference. Interference? What the heck does that mean? That`s just piling on, the intoxicated gentleman was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time.
