Insanity In The UK: Divorce Vouchers

Insanity In The UK: Divorce Vouchers

By Robert Paul Reyes

"Stuck for Christmas gift ideas? Is your marriage or a friend`s going through a rocky patch? How about a divorce voucher?

In an unusual take on the season of giving, a London law firm is offering Christmas gift vouchers for divorce advice.
The firm, Lloyd Platt & Company, which normally charges 325 pounds ($530) an hour, said it had been swamped with enquiries since it launched the vouchers early last week." Reuters/ Elizabeth Fullerton."

Christmas is the happiest time of the year!

Baloney! Christmas is the most stressful time of the year: Buying presents for finicky friends; trying to avoid service providers who are expecting a Xmas tip; getting drunk at the office party and regretting it the next day, your crazy uncle Cletus ruining your Christmas family dinner; brats presenting you with a Christmas list that is longer than Snoop Dogg`s rap sheet ... What a freakin` nightmare.

Christmas is too much of a strain for many couples, and they end up getting a divorce early in the new year. Why not give a divorce voucher to that couple who just weren`t meant for each other? I know a handful of couples who really need a divorce voucher.

If divorce vouchers take a hold on this side of the pond Tiger Woods` wife, Elin Nordergren, would be swamped with divorce vouchers this Christmas.

Some persons may not be too thrilled to receive a divorce voucher from a concerned friend, but we all know that good deeds aren`t always rewarded.

Be a Good Samaritan, give a divorce voucher to a loved one.
